THE World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA), a nongovernment organization, will conduct a training on animal control management and humane euthanasia to licensed government veterinarians from July 26 to July 29 at the University of Eastern Philippines in Catarman, Northern Samar.
The activity will highlight the rabies elimination project in the Visayas, which is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and coordinated by World Health Organization (WHO).
Elaine Llarena, program officer of the WSPA in the Philippines, said their group works with the WHO and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation on the rabies elimination project in the Visayas.
In August, the WSPA will launch another event, the Animal Welfare Best Practice competition in Bohol. Participants must submit a project proposal on best practice in animal welfare.
The top three proposals will be awarded with P45,000 for the funding of their submitted proposal.
This competition is open to all institutions.
