Money changer loses P1.5M in parked car

MANILA, Philippines—A branch manager of a foreign exchange company lost around P1.5 million cash while his car was parked in Quezon City on Saturday.

Police identified the victim as Ryan Calleja, 32, a resident of Barangay (village) Sangandaan, Project 8, Quezon City.

Police Officer 3 Jose Edgar Bon of Quezon City Police District’s Talipapa  station said in a report that Calleja’s white Suzuki SX4 car with plate number TLQ-246 was parked outside the TYSA clinic on Mindanao Avenue corner Road 20, Barangay Bahay Toro in Quezon City, from 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The left side window of the car’s passenger side was broken and a Nike backpack containing P1.5 million in cash and ATM cards was stolen, the report added.
