Woman gives birth in Manila cemetery

/ 11:16 PM November 02, 2012

A 24-year-old woman gave birth to a girl at a police command post inside Manila’s North Cemetery Thursday night as thousands of visitors paid their respects to their dead at the burial grounds where the mother lives with her family.

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Manila team attended to Jennilyn Ventura, PRC chapter service representative Don Erickson Orje told the Inquirer.

Ventura’s water broke while she was still in her shack near the tomb of former President Manuel Roxas.

A doctor proceeded with the delivery before she could be brought to the hospital.  Erika Sauler
