TEEN DIES IN ROAD MISHAP

A TEENAGER was killed after the motorcycle he rode collided with a car in barangay Pangdan, Naga City, southern Cebu.

The fatality was identified as Joeramie Bonhanoy, 19, the backrider of a motorcycle driven by his 18-year-old brother Ronie, 18.

Police said Ronie lost control of his motorcycle while trying to overtake another motorcycle in a curve portion of the road past 9 p.m. last Sunday.

5 MEN NABBED FOR GUN, ‘SHABU’

POLICE arrested five persons caught carrying deadly weapons and packs of suspected shabu in barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City.

Police seized a .357 revolver with six bullets from Alfredo Casinillo, 23, while taken from Jobert Borces, 22, were a kitchen knife and 10 pieces of small packs of suspected shabu.

The two men’s companions identified as Mario Diola, 35; Roman Apa, 35; and Victor Inso, 38, were arrested after drug-sniffing paraphernalia were recovered from them, said police. The five men live in Lapu-Lapu.

Police rushed to sitio Seaside last Tuesday night after a resident reported that a man fired a gun there.

Casinillo and the four other men were still in the area when police arrived.

MAN FOUND HANGING DEAD

A MAN was found hanging dead from a tree in barangay Sangi, Toledo City.

Police found no signs of foul play in the death of Emilio Mayol, who was found with nylon rope looped around his neck and the other tied to a branch of a mango tree around 9 a.m. yesterday.

SNATCHING SUSPECT ARRESTED

A 41-YEAR-OLD man was arrested after he allegedly picked the pocket of a traveler at the North Bus Terminal in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

Randy Navarro, a resident of sitio Alaska, barangay Mambaling, Cebu City, was arrested by police deployed at the terminal last Wednesday afternoon.

Allan Fortaliza, 31, a native of barangay Goyong, Borbon town, Cebu, said he was lining up while waiting for his turn to board a bus when he felt someone touch his hand.

Fortaliza said he turned his back and saw Navarro walking away.

The complainant said he checked the front pocket of his pants and discovered that his P2,000 was missing.

Fortaliza alerted the policemen who stopped Navarro.

STRAY BULLET HITS WAITRESS

A WAITRESS of a videoke bar was hit by a stray bullet in barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu city.

Irene Montero, 39, was wounded in the left leg.

Police said Montero found herself wounded after two gunshots rang out from another videoke bar at dawn yesterday.

The woman’s co-workers checked where the gunfire came from and found two men running away from an adjacent bar.

No one was able to identify the two men.

MAN SHOT BY NEIGHBOR

A 58-YEAR-OLD man was shot and wounded by his neighbor in barangay Sohoton, Badian town, southwest Cebu.

Police are still investigating the motive in the shooting of Climaco Vidiamor, who sustained a gunshot wound in the head.

The attacker was identified as Martin Amarado.

Police said Vidiamor was with other neighbors in a videoke session when Amarado arrived and shot him past 5 p.m. last Wednesday.
