Cebuano Seno claims Philta boys 14 crown

JAN Godfrey Seno once again made Cebu proud being the only Cebuano who clinched the title in his category in last weekend’s Philta Palawan Pawnshop national junior tennis championships at the Gov. Socrates Tennis Club in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

Seno ruled the boys 14 category with a 6-0, 6-3 bashing of Fernando Jose Arguelles of Bacolod.

The University of San Carlos student advanced to the final round with a, 6-0, 6-3 annihilation of National Capital Region’s Marcus del Rosario in the semifinals. He also beat Vincent Alanis in the quarterfinals, 4-0, 5-4, 7-5.

Other Cebuanos who salvaged runner-up honors were Sally Mae Siso in the girls 18 and Jana Pages in the girls 14.

The two, however, paired to bring home the girls 18 doubles title.  /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
