Fetus found in cab

A 5-month-old fetus was discovered on Sunday evening in the back seat of a taxi cab in Manila. Evangelio Crayo, 48, said he was driving his Chrenzkri taxi in the Sampaloc area when he detected a faint foul odor coming from the back seat. When he stopped the cab to check, he found a green plastic bag containing something bloody that had been wrapped in paper and a diaper. Crayo said he immediately sought the help of policemen from the Manila Police District Station 4 who were on patrol. Police Officer 2 Roderick Pacilan confirmed that the bag contained a fetus with the umbilical cord still intact. The cab driver said he could not recall who among his passengers could have left the bag inside his cab.—Jeannette I. Andrade
