Woman killed in hotel room

A woman was found dead several hours after she checked in with a man at a hotel in Quezon City on Saturday afternoon.

Investigators of the Quezon City Police District Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU) said that they had yet to identify the victim who was apparently strangled by her companion.

She was described as between 25 and 30 years old, at least 5’5” tall and with fair complexion. She was dressed in a black shirt and denim pants.

Case investigator PO2 Alvin Quisumbing of the QCPD-CIDU said the victim’s body was discovered on a bed inside a room at Spring Hotel on Pinatubo Street at 6:30 p.m. the other day. He added that three hours earlier, the woman arrived at the hotel and joined her companion who had checked in an hour before.

At 6 p.m., a hotel staffer called up the room occupants to ask what time they would be checking out. When no one answered the phone, a room boy was sent to check. He used a duplicate key to open the door after no one replied despite his repeated knocks and he found the victim lying on the bed.

Police probers were reviewing footage taken by a closed circuit television camera to identify the victim’s male companion.
