STRAY BULLET KILLS WOMAN

A WOMAN was killed while a man was wounded by stray bullets in a shooting incident in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

Jeizel Magalso, a 28-year-old bystander,  was  shot in the back,while Mark “Em-em” Aratia, 32, was also wounded.

Police said the target of the attack was Magalso’s live-in partner identified only as George.

Two  men  wearing ball caps arrived in sitio Marna at 3:30 a.m. yesterday. One of them  opened fire upon seeing George.

George was able to run  off unharmed.

The bullets  hit Magalso, who was standing outside  her house. Aratia was drinking with friends nearby when he was hit by a stray bullet.

The assailants fled after the incident.

Neighbors brought Magalso to the Cebu City Medical Center on board a taxi but she died along the way.  Police said personal grudges could be the motive behind  the attack. /CORRESPONDENT JUCELL MARIE P. CUYOS

LOT AGENT SHOT IN DRINKING BOUT

A REAL ESTATE  broker was shot and wounded by his friend after they argued at a drinking session in barangay Perrelos, Carcar City, southern Cebu.

Gerald Panugaling, 39,  was shot in the abdomen.

His attacker Rodel Quijano, 40, surrendered to the police after yesterday dawn’s incident.

Police said the two men were drinking with friends in Secret Dream videoke bar sitio Gaymakers when they argued over a woman.

The argument led to a fistfight.

SPO1 Erving Avila said Quijano was taking a beating when he drew a gun and shot  Panugaling, a resident of Carcar.

Police said it was later learned that Quijano was charged with a murder case a few years ago./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC

WOMAN HACKED BY SON

A WOMAN was hacked and wounded by her  44-year-old son after they argued at home in barangay Bagay, Daanbantayan town, northern Cebu.

Pacita Rosello sustained multiple hack wounds in the body. Her son, Alfonso, was described as mentally unstable.

Police said the mother and son were arguing when Alfonso took a bolo and attacked her mother around 5 a.m. last Friday.

Responding tanods arrested Alfonso and turned him over to the police.

MAN FOUND DEAD IN POULTRY FARM

A MAN was found dead  in a poultry farm in barangay Ocoy, Sta. Fe town, northern Cebu.

Police said Marvin Reuyan may have touched a live wire installed in the poultry farm to ward off thieves and died  as a result of the  electric shock.

The body was found by the poultry caretaker at 6:30 a.m. yesterday.
