COMMERCIAL basketball action at its finest kicks off tonight as the 3rd Mayor Rudy Espinosa Open Basketball Tournament opens at the Barba Memorial Sports Complex in Toledo City.
The cash-rich tournament will feature Autolab taking on Macmae in the 8 p.m. opening game. The champion squad will receive a whopping P100,000 prize while the runner-up will get P75,000. The third placer gets P50,000 while the fourth placer pockets P30,000.
Tomorrow night will have the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) runners-up, University of the Visayas Green Lancers taking on AC Sports.
The eight teams have been divided into two brackets with bracket A having Autolab, Macmea, Carmen Copper and Cesafi champions, Southwestern University. Bracket B is composed of UV, the University of San Jose-Recoletos, AC Sports and SG Merchandising. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
