A fire broke out at a retreat house run by nuns in Quezon City yesterday morning, destroying nearly half a million pesos worth of property.
City fire marshal Supt. Bobby Baruelo said the Santa Rafaela House of Spirituality on Casanova Drive, Barangay Culiat, was partially damaged in the blaze that began around 11 a.m. and lasted for about 30 minutes before firefighters were able to put it under control.
An initial investigation showed that the fire of still unknown cause started from a room on the second floor of the building.
No one was reported killed or injured. Julie M. Aurelio
