MANILA, Philippines—Five Pasay City cops, including a precinct chief, were relieved of their posts after allegedly being caught on camera sleeping while on duty, police said.
Chief Superintendent Benito Estipona, director of the Southern Police District, said Senior Police Officer 1 Leoncio Munoz, PO3 El Heidi Bulaclac, PO2 Romy De La Cruz and PO2 Joshua Pili, the night shift personnel of police community precinct 10, were recorded by a television news team sleeping on the job when they should have been patrolling their area of responsibility along Barangay (village) Merville in Pasay City around 2 a.m. Thursday.
The commander of PCP 10, Chief Inspector Reynaldo Paculan, was also relieved “for his failure to exercise direction, supervision and control over his PCP.”
