SONA timeline
June 16, 1936. President Manuel L. Quezon delivers the first SONA at the Legislative Building.
October 18, 1943. President Jose P. Laurel of the Second Philippine Republic gives his first and only message before the special session of the National Assembly, led by Speaker Benigno Aquino, four days after the Philippine Republic was established.
June 9, 1945. President Sergio Osmeña delivers his first and only SONA before the newly-established bicameral body following the defeat of the Japanese and the re-establishment of the Commonwealth Government in the Philippines.
June 3, 1946. President Manuel Roxas delivers the last State of the Nation Address under the Commonwealth of the Philippines.
January 27, 1947. Roxas makes his next address to the First Congress.
January 23, 1950. President Elpidio Quirino, recuperating at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, gives his State of the Nation Address to the joint session of Congress, beamed through RCS in the United States and picked up by the local radio network at 10 a.m. in the morning just in time for the opening of the regular congressional session.
Article continues after this advertisementJune 12, 1978. President Marcos makes his first SONA at the Batasan Pambansa during the opening session of the Interim Batasan Pambansa. He holds the record of having the most number of SONA delivered.

1986. President Corazon C. Aquino opts not to deliver any State of the Nation Address.
July 27, 1987. With the restoration of Congress, President Aquino delivers her State of the Nation Address at the Session Hall of the House of Representatives in the Batasan Pambansa Complex, Quezon City. Her last national address was on July 22, 1991.
July 27, 1992. President Fidel Ramos delivers his first of six SONAs.
July 27, 1998. President Joseph Estrada makes his first SONA. His last was on July 24, 2000.
July 23, 2001. President Gloria-Macapagal Arroyo makes her first of seven SONAs.
July 26, 2010. President Benigno S. Aquino III delivers his first State of the Nation Address. It was the first SONA in history delivered entirely in Filipino.
