MAN STABBED IN ‘TONG-ITS’
A 38-YEAR-OLD man was stabbed and wounded by another man after they argued while playing “tong-its” in barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City.
Nicasio Quindao was stabbed in the chest by Loreto Aton, said police.
Aton was also wounded after Quindao managed to grab the knife from his attacker and used it in stabbing him.
Police said Aton went home after he and Quindao argued while they were playing “tong-its” with friends last Wednesday night.
Aton was already armed with a knife when he returned and confronted Quindao.
The two men grappled for the knife.
Residents in the area stopped the fight. Quindao was brought to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital while Aton was taken to Mactan Doctors’ Hospital.

HOUSE RAZED IN TOLEDO FIRE
A COMPUTER left unplugged may have caused the fire that razed a house and damaged three others in barangay Talavera, Toledo City, midwest Cebu.
The fire started at the house of Angelito Realista at 1:44 p.m. yesterday.
She was not at home when the emergency occured.

MAN DROWNS IN DUMANJUG
AN 18-YEAR-OLD man went missing after swimming in the waters off barangay Tapon, Dumanjug town, southern Cebu, last Tuesday afternoon.
Police said there have been several drowning incidents in the area where Regil Sacan was last seen swimming with friends past 4 p.m.
“The place was rumored to be haunted,” said PO2 Ramil Chinel of the Dumanjug police in Cebuano.
The victim’s father and some neighbors searched the area but failed to find Sacan’s body. The incident was later reported to the police./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
MAN NABBED FOR SELLING DRUGS
POLICE arrested a man in a drug buy-bust operation in barangay Poblacion, Dalaguete town, southern Cebu.
Michael Carin Amaba, a resident of barangay Lanao, Dalaguete, was arrested after selling a pack of suspected shabu for P300 to a poseur-buyer last Tuesday.
The arresting team, led by Insp. Dexter Basirgo, Dalaguete police chief, also seized eight packs of suspected shabu. /CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
