M. Lhuillier-SMB friendly games moved to Nov 17
THE MUCH-ANTICIPATED showdown between the Asean Basketball League’s (ABL) San Miguel Beermen and the hometown boys M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala-Cebu Niños has been postponed to Nov. 17 and 18 as the former’s imports has yet to make it back to the country in time for the goodwill games originally slated to start tomorrow.
According to MLKP head coach Raul “Yayoy” Alcoseba, Brian Williams and Gabe Freeman of the Beermen has yet to join the team, forcing him to change the schedule and give both teams ample time to prepare especially with the Niños gaining an import of their own in the comebacking Devon Sullivan, who is making his second tour of duty with Cebu’s winningest commercial team.
The matchup between the Beermen and the Niños has been a much-talked about one especially with San Miguel raring to bounce back from their runner-up finish in the ABL last season.
They have made moves to fortify their frontcourt in the offseason, recruiting two former PBA MVPs in 6-foot-9 Fil-Tongan Asi Taulava and Eric Menk./Correspondent Jonas Panerio
