Man stabs, hurts step brother after fistfight

A 12-YEAR-OLD boy was stabbed and wounded by his 20-year-old step brother after they argued in barangay Lagtang, Talisay City, southern Cebu.

The boy sustained two stab wounds in the back. The suspect, Arnel Traya, was arrested after the attack.

Police said the two brothers argued when the victim refused to tend their store last Sunday night. The argument led to a fistfight.

SPO4 Daniel Tarucan, investigator of the Talisay City police, said the boy ran outside the store. The older brother gave chase.

The older brother caught up with the boy when the victim fell on the ground and stabbed him with a kitchen knife, said police.

Traya tried to flee after the attack but was cornered by bystanders.

Police said Traya was mauled by the people after he drew a knife, said police.

The boy was brought to the Talisay City District Hospital. He was later moved to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.
