CAMP VICENTE LIM — A policeman assigned in Metro Manila and his wife were killed outside their home in Malvar, Batangas, Sunday afternoon, the town’s police chief reported on Monday.
Police officer 3 Zoilo Manalo, 51, who was assigned at the district intelligence office of the Southern Police District, and his wife Elvie, 47, were shot dead past 4 p.m. in Barangay (village) Poblacion, according to Malvar police chief Senior Inspector Gaudencio Aguilera.
Manalo was in Batangas on Sunday to attend his grandmother’s funeral.
The couple had just returned home and was parking their car outside their home when an unidentified man approached Manalo on the left side of the car and shot him twice in the head, Aguilera said.
The bullet exited through Manalo’s head, hitting his wife, who was seated beside him on the passenger seat.
