MANILA, Philippines–A Philippine Airlines (PAL) plane suffered another ‘birdstrike’ upon landing at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Monday night.
The plane, an Airbus A320 with 152 passengers onboard, underwent thorough maintenance inspection upon arriving from Bacolod. All passengers arrived safely, PAL said in a statement issued Tuesday.
Initial findings revealed bloodstains on the wing area of the Airbus A320 that landed in Manila around 8:45 p.m.
No serious damage on the aircraft’s wing and two CFM jet engines were found by mechanics of Lufthansa Technik Philippines after maintenance check. The plane went back on service the following day, October 23, the statement added.
The number of ‘birdstrikes’ at NAIA have been steadily increasing over the past months as reported by PAL and other airlines operating in Manila’s premiere international airport.
