Diminutive Cruz is PBA Player of the Week

UNDERSIZED power forward Jervy Cruz stood proud and tall in spite of his underdog status as he notched career highs in points and rebounds in helping  the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters to the second spot in the standings in the ongoing PBA Philippine Cup.

This did not go unnoticed as the former UAAP MVP from the University of Santo Tomas was deemed as the Player of the Week for the period of Oct. 15 to 21 as he scored 22 points and added 16 boards to his name in their 94-83 win over the Globalport Batang Pier this past week.

The 26-year old’s hard work paid dividends as he went 8-of-14 from the field while grabbing half of his rebound total from the offensive end. His performance was the latest in a string of impressive outings that has seen him norm 13.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in this conference, becoming the second-leading scorer of the squad behind Jeff Chan while becoming peerless in the rebounding department.
