Kenyans score victories in Lapu

KENYANS Josphat Kiptanui and Douglas Mwiti finished one-two in the 15-kilometer race of yesterday’s 2nd Alphonsian Run at the Lapu-Lapu City Hall grounds.

Kiptanui logged a time of 51 minutes and 40 seconds to rule the men’s 15k race while Mwiti fnished at  second with a time of 53 minutes and  55 seconds.

Cebuano Adonis Singson rounded off the top three with  a time of 56 minutes and 57 seconds.

Cristy Tutor topped the distaff side clocking one hour, 27 minutes and 42 seconds.  Keisha Mae Delechos breasted the finish line in 1:13.33 for second place while University of Southern Philippines Foundation’s (USPF) Aiza Suaybaguio clocled 1:17:36 for third place.

In the 6k race, Jhean Andrin (26:06) emerged victorious in the women’s  side  while Joebert Carolino (19:52) topped the men’s race.

Cherry Andrin placed first in the women’s 3k race with a time of 12:03 while Robert Daang placed first in the men’s side with a time of 09:05.

The running event attracted around 2,000 runners. It was intended to support Saint Alphonsius Catholic School Alumni Association Batch 1988’s charity works and scholarship foundation. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
