Australian found dead in Manila condo

MANILA, Philippines – An Australian inventor, who is suffering from heart ailment, was found dead Saturday night in a condominium in Manila, police said.

Police Officer 3 Rodel Benitez of the Manila Police District homicide section said Borris Anticevich, 84,a native of Sydney, Australia, was found dead inside his home at unit 1096, Sun View Palace along M.H Del Pilar street in Malate, Manila at around 10:45 pm.

His caregiver Angelie Baylosis, 25, told the police that she just arrived from Zamboanga, her hometown, when she found the Australian national lying naked on the floor beside his bed.

Lovely Ann Balisi was asked to take care of Anticevich when Baylosis left for Zamboanga on October 15. Balisi was fired before his death.

Case investigator Benitez said the victim died almost an hour before his body was discovered because of the discoloration.

No physical injuries were found in the victim’s body but the police were looking into possible food poisoning and inside job, he said.
The police have interviewed caregivers Baylosis and Balisi. “They were both cooperative. We know where to locate them if investigation shows that crime was committed,” Benitez said.

Anticevich’s body lies at St. Ivan funeral parlor for autopsy while further investigation was being conducted for possible foul play.
