600 vie in Aloguinsan Eco-Adventure Run

MORE than 600 runners will be seeing action in today’s Eco-Adventure Run which is part of Aloguinsan’s fiesta celebration.

Aloguinsan is located 59 kilometers southwest of Cebu City.

Aloguinsan Vice Mayor Cynthia Moreno said that participants will not only be running on paved roads but part of the route will have them negotiating trails and rivers. She also said runners will also enjoy the scenic view that the race route offers.

Categories to be featured are a 21-kilometer run, 10K and a 3K for the locals.

This is the first time that Aloguinsan is organizing a sporting event.

According to Vice Mayor Moreno, this is their way of promoting a healthy lifestyle among their constituents.

Aside from that, the activity also encourages the youth to stay away from drugs and alcohols.

According to Moreno, since they announced the holding of the race, some of their constituents have started training for the event.

Another objective of the race is to promote the town of Aloguinsan. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
