Burglars broke into the apartment of a newspaper reporter in Quezon City on Thursday, carting away gadgets and cash worth around P120,000.
The break-in was discovered by the son of Jaime Laude, who covers the defense beat for Philippine Star, when he arrived at their residence on Simon Street, Barangay San Isidro, around 7 p.m.
Supt. Osmundo de Guzman, commander of the La Loma police station, said the 52-year-old newsman lost P7,000 in cash, a Macbook Pro laptop worth P76,000, a Sony camera valued at P36,000 and a pouch bag.
The journalist’s son told police that he was about to open the front door of their third-floor unit when he saw the padlock already detached.
The place was already in shambles when he got in. Julie M. Aurelio
