Killer on motorcycle guns down teenager in Quezon City
MANILA, Philippines—An unidentified man on a motorcycle shot dead a 14-year-old boy right in his neighborhood in Quezon City early Thursday morning, police said.
Von Axel Delpozo, 14, was shot once in the chest in the 6:15 a.m. attack on Marin Street in Barangay Holy Spirit close to Ranger Road where the boy lived, police said.
Investigator Police Officer 2 Dennis Llapitan said police were puzzled why anyone would kill a boy.
A sari-sari store owner recalled that he had just opened his store for the day when he heard a gunshot. The witness looked out to see Delpozo falling to the ground as the lone gunman sped away on his motorcycle.
The boy’s family learned of the shooting and rushed the victim to the Malvar General Hospital, where the boy died at 6:47 a.m. while undergoing treatment.
