MANILA, Philippines–Two alleged drug traders were arrested in Makati City Wednesday after selling suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” to an undercover police officer, police said Thursday.

Senior Superintendent Manuel Lukban, Makati chief of police, identified the arrested suspects as Jennilyn “Jane” Guzon, 27, and Melanie “Lanie” Tolentino, 39 who “confederated, conspired and helped one another” in selling P500-worth of shabu worth P500 to a policeman who posed as buyer. Three more sachets were recovered in further search.

Lukban said Tolentino even had her 4-year old daughter during the buy bust operation conducted along Santuico Street in Pio del Pilar, Makati around 5:30 p.m.

Both suspects underwent inquest proceedings for violation of sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, while Tolentino’s 4-yr old daughter was turned over to the Community Social and Welfare Development center for proper disposition, Lukban said.
