The Southern Police District (SPD) is keeping a close watch on Maharlika Village in Taguig City after three people caught with fake peso bills claimed they were residents in the area.
SPD director Chief Superintendent Benito Estipona identified two of those arrested as Sandy Akmad, 39; who was caught with 19 pieces of counterfeit P50 bills, and Felix Diokno, 33, who yielded five fake P1,000 bills.
All three told the police they lived in Maharlika Village.
“I found it curious so I asked the city police to keep tabs on the area. For all we know, the printing machine is there.
The machines are so easy to acquire now,” Estipona said. Jaymee T. Gamil
