MANILA, Philippines—Tropical storm “Nina” has weakened further but continues to move slowly outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Wednesday.
According to the latest report of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Wednesday noon, Nina was located at 620 kilometers Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.
Its maximum sustained winds were weaker at 85 kilometers per hour with gustiness of up to 100 kilometers per hour.
It continued to move at a slow pace of seven kilometers per hour in a North Northeast direction and as expected to be 760 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes by Thursday morning.
Pagasa estimates the rainfall amount to be 5-15 millimeters per hour around the 600 kilometer diameter of Nina.
Pagasa also reiterated its advisory for fishing boats and other small seacrafts to refrain from venturing out to the seaboards of northern and eastern Luzon due to the big waves generated by the storm.
No other weather disturbances have been monitored by Pagasa as of Wednesday.
