WORKER FALLS TO HIS DEATH
A CONSTRUCTION worker fell to his death from the second floor of a four-story building under construction in barangay South Poblacion, Naga City, southern Cebu.
Danny Rafaela, 42, a worker of Zamyryphil Inc. Contractor, suffered head and body injuries. He was declared dead at the South General Hospital.
Police said the worker may have failed to notice a hole in the second floor while he was cleaning the area of used construction materials past 11 a.m. last Sunday.
Some co-workers said they heard a loud sound and later found Rafaela slumped on the ground

ARMED CABBIE NABBED
A 33-YEAR-OLD taxi driver was arrested after he was caught carrying a firearm in barangay Umapad, Mandaue City.
Police said an unlicensed revolver with two bullets of an M-16 rifle was recovered from Renato Gingoyon of barangay Alang-Alang, Mandaue.
The dispatcher of the Revolution taxi called the police yesterday to report that Gingoyon was armed while driving his taxi.
Police intercepted Gingoyon at the taxi companny’s garage in Plaridel Street.

3 FALL IN DRUG BUSTS
THREE persons were arrested in separate drug buy-bust operations in Cebu.
Wilfredo Castroños was arrested Monday night after he allegedly sold a pack of suspected shabu worth P300 to a poseur buyer in barangay Poblacion, Dalaguete town, southern Cebu.
Police said four sachets were seized from the man.
Last Sunday afternoon, police arrested two men who allegedly sold illegal drugs in barangay Poblacion, Tabuelan town.
Floreto Moreño Jr., 38, and Gabriel Almacin, 28, were arrested for selling a pack of shabu worth P500 to a police asset who acted as a buyer.
