Azkals-Lions tickets go on sale today

More than 5,000 tickets will go on sale nationwide starting today via the SM Tickets for the friendly match between the Philippine Azkals and the Singapore Lions organized by the Cebu Football Association (CFA).

Dubbed as the “Faceoff” the match will be held at the newly rehabilitated football field of the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) on Nov. 15 with kickoff scheduled at 7 p.m.

Those who want to buy tickets can go to SM Tickets located at the SM Cinema in all SM Malls or log on at smtickets.com.

CFA president Pericles “Ricky” Dakay said that all tickets will have a corresponding seat number to make sure that the spectators will be comfortable while watching the game.

Tickets will follow the color coding used during the Sinulog.

VIP tickets are worth P2,000, red bleachers at P800, white at P600, blue at P400, yellow at P400, pink at P200 and green at P200.

Aside from the CCSC bleachers, the CFA is also planning to put up 600 portable bleachers priced at P1,000.

Those interested are urged to buy their tickets early so they can choose their seats.

CFA is partnering with SM Tickets in selling the tickets to cater to those coming from out of town who want to watch the match as the sales is done online.

Rico Navarro of CFA said this is done to prevent ticket duplication.

For Visayas, tickets can be availed at SM branches in Cebu, Consolacion, Bacolod and Iloilo while in Mindanao, tickets can be bought at SM branches in Cagayan de Oro and Davao.

PREPARATION

Dakay assured that they are on top of the preparation for this event which is the first ever international friendly football match played in Cebu.

Dakay said the match is very important because it will be both countries’ last friendly match before the start of the Asian Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup on Nov. 24.

This will also be the first Azkals match in Cebu.

“We might be able to host more international tournaments. With our strategic location, Cebu is ideal to host events like this. We have everything to offer and people love to come to Cebu,” Dakay said.

He also urged the rest of the Cebuano community to support this event as the CFA board cannot do it by themselves.

“Let’s make history happen and with the full cooperation of the Cebuano community, we can pull this off,” Dakay said.
