Kiptanui, Beboso share top honors in Pink October Run
Josphat Kiptanui and Michelle Beboso took the top places in the 10-kilometer race of the Pink October Run yesterday at The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu.
Kenyan Kiptanui logged another impressive victory by clocking 35 minutes and 41 seconds to beat Cebuano Bonifacio Monjas and Warren Gabumpa, who settled for second and third, respectively.
Monjas finished in 35 minutes and 50 seconds while Gabumpa placed third with a time of 42 minutes and eight seconds.
Beboso breasted the finish line first in the women’s 10k with a time of 51 minutes and 27 seconds followed by Janet Legazpi (55:11) and Cecilia Cabahug (55:56).
John Daryl Manos and Jessa Dela Calzada topped the 5k race with a time of 17:34 and 27:16, respectively.
Jonie Lito Arojo finished in 19:32 for second place in the men’s 5k followed by Luis Miguel Maximo (21:25). Dela Calzada was trailed by Desiree Salas (28:04) and Jennifer Tapales (29:05).
