Kiamco in semis of Johnny Archer 10-ball

FILIPINO pool master Warren “Warrior” Kiamco cruised to the semifinal round of the 1st Johnny Archer Classic 10-Ball Championship on Monday at the Marietta Billiards in Marietta, Georgia, USA.

The Pasil, Cebu native Kiamco stamped his class over American Mike Davis, 9-6, to remain undefeated in the Dragon Promotions production of the tournament that offers $4,625 to teh champion. The event is sanctioned by the Association of Billiard Professionals as an ABP International Points Ranking Tournament and hosted by the Marietta Billiard Club.

In the next round, Kiamo will meet Jonathan Pinegar of the USA, who brought down countryman Shannon Daulton, 9-7.

In the earlier rounds, Kiamco crushed Jeffrey Helie, 9-6, James Giorella, 9-2, Mark Ritter, 9-6, and Shawn Putnam, 9-5.

Kiamco is fresh from winning back-to-back titles in the US billiards circuit. He ruled the Houston Open in Legends Billiards League City, Texas and the Open/Pro event of the Predator Tour at the The Cue Bar in Bayside, New York.

Meanwhile, Daulton and Shane “The South Dakota Kid” Van Boening of the USA hurdled their respective assignments in the losers brackets to arrange a meeting in the Final Four round.

Daulton ousted Hunter Lombardo of the USA, 9-7, while Van Boening nipped Davis, 9-2.

Another Filipino entry is Israel “Amay” Rota also from Cebu province. American Tommy Kennedy sent Rota to the losers side and the Cebuano officially bowed out of contention when he lost to Lombardo, 7-9, in their do-or-die match.
