Bus falls in Quezon ravine
LUCENA CITY—A number of passengers were hurt when a Manila-bound bus lost its brakes and fell into a 30-foot ravine Sunday afternoon in Pagbilao, Quezon, police said.
Senior Superintendent Erickson Velasquez, the Quezon provincial police chief, said some of the 50 passengers of the ill-fated bus were injured and were rushed to the Jane County hospital in Pagbilao.
The AB Liner bus (DXL-490) was descending the zigzag diversion road in Sitio (settlement) Amao in Barangay (village) Silangan Malicboy at around 3 p.m. when the bus suddenly had a problem with its brakes and fell down the cliff, Velasquez said.
The bus came from Calauag town and was headed toward Alabang in Muntinlupa City. It was being driven by Gregorio Delin Banaag, Velasquez said.
