Co to slug it out with Araneta in Yaw-Yan ArDigma Fighting Challenge V on Aug. 6

KYLE “The Hurricane” Co of Team Yaw-Yan ArDigma Martial Arts Federation will be facing Mark “The Terminator” Araneta of the Unified MMA Mandaue in the main event of the Recompense: Yaw-Yan ArDigma Fighting Challenge V set on Aug. 6 at the Cebu Coliseum.

The 25-year-old Co, who debuted in MMA last 2009, is in tip-top shape after more than two months of non-stop training under the supervision of Yaw-Yan ArDigma VisMin Chief Master Benigno “Ekin” Caniga Jr.

Co and Araneta will be fighting in  the MMA featherweight division 140-149 lb.  Araneta already suffered a heavy blow from Yaw-Yan ArDigma’s Enjie Piloto through a submission rear naked choke last September 2010 in a different tournament.

Piloto will be fighting Arthur “Spartan King” Barba of the Mindanao Unified Martial Arts (MUMA) for three rounds in a Yaw-Yan rule stand-up fight.

In the kick boxing main event, Renan “Limbas” Noblefranca also from Yaw-Yan Ardigma Cebu will be facing Steve “D’ Lightning” Sevilleno of Team Mindanao Unified MMA Cagayan De Oro for five rounds.

Leading the list of competing mixed martial arts clubs here and outside Cebu are the Yaw-Yan Ardigma, Projectiles Fit, Calma Stable, Rednios Gladiators MMA, Soma Kick Boxing, Arcom Jukai Kick Boxing Club, JR Grand MMA, Unified MMA, Yaw-Yan Musang Lapu-Lapu, Durex Kick Boxing Club, Muay Thai Association of the Philippines of Dumaguete, Red Dragon MMA of Tagbilaran, Bohol and Mindanao Unified MMA of Cagayan De Oro.  /CORRESPONDENT DALE G.
