Three killed in Cebu shootings
THREE men were killed while another one was wounded in separate shooting incidents across Cebu.
Police said land dispute could be the motive when Emaquito Conde was shot by a still unidentified assailant outside his house in barangay Tindog, Medellin town, northern Cebu.
The victim’s stepson told police that he saw the victim talking to a man near the gate of their house around 8 p.m. last Tuesday.
While the two men were talking, the assailant, who was on board a tricycle drew a gun and shot Conde in the face.
Conde was brought to the Cebu Provincial District Hospital in Bogo City but died along the way.
Chief Insp. Laurel Amirante said that according to the victim’s live-in partner, Conde was threatened by one Dante Dejito last Sept. 19. The threat was reported to the police.

Article continues after this advertisementAlso in northern Cebu, a 60-year old man was shot and killed while walking along a road past 10 a.m. yesterday.
Marcelo Lato was on his way to a store when a man on a motorcycle shot him twice in the head in barangay Poblacion Oriental, Consolacion town.
Lato was declared dead when he was brought to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.
Police are still investigating the motive of the attack.
In barangay Inayagan, Naga City, southern Cebu, an unidentified man was shot dead by a motorcycle-riding assailant while crossing a road around 4 a.m. yesterday.
The victim, who bore tattoos all over the body, died on the spot with a gunshot wound in the right cheek.
Police said two lighters, a razor blade and an empty cigarette pack were found in the man’s possession.
No one from the area was able to recognize the man.
In barangay Dapitan, Cordova town, off Mactan Island, a 42-year-old man was shot and wounded by a 17-year-old youth past 1 p.m. last Tuesday.
Rolando Sumalinog, 42, was wounded in the thigh. The assailant fled after the attack.
