Store owner shoots teen boy

A STORE owner shot and wounded a 17-year-old boy whom he suspected of being a thief in barangay Calamba, Cebu City.

Kevin Zamora, 19, surrendered to the police after the incident.

The incident happened in Rama Street in sitio Lower San Roque past 3 a.m. last Monday.

Zamora told police that he caught the boy trying to destroy the padlock of his store.

The store owner shouted at the boy to stop what he was doing but the boy allegedly ignored him.

This time, Zamora drew a gun and shot the boy.

The boy, who was hit in the right side of the body, ran home. He was later brought by his father to the Cebu City Medical Center.

Responding police arrested Zamora. Police failed to recover a gun during the arrest./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
