A 16-YEAR-OLD girl died in an apparent case of suicide in barangay Poblacion, Lapu-Lapu City on Sunday night.
Antonette Manalo was found unconscious by her friend inside a room in their house. She was rushed to the hospital after allegedly drinking poison.
Manalo, a second year high school student, didn’t reach the hospital alive.
Police investigation showed that Manalo diluted cyanide balls in a bottle of liquor and drank it.
Cyanide balls were found in her room.
Manalo was reportedly depressed by her parent’s separation earlier this year.
Two of her siblings left with their father.
Police found a letter in a notebook, where the teenager expressed dismay over the family problems.
She also requested in her letter that she be made to wear a white shirt and black pants during her vigil wake.
