Provincial Board Member Arleigh Jay Sitoy of Cebu’s 6th district was named the new majority floor leader yesterday.
He replaced PB Member Peter John Calderon.
The change took place more than a month after the Capitol legislative body observed a status quo following the defection of One Cebu members to the Liberal Party (LP) .

Sitoy, an LP member, resigned as minority floor leader last month after some PB members shifted party affiliations.
“We work for the welfare of the province regardless of the party,” Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale said.
The committee chairmanships remain as is except for the committee on arts and culture that’s now headed by PB Member Miguel Antonio Magpale.
The arts and culture committee was formerly chaired by Sitoy, who’s now vice chairman.
The younger Magpale also holds the vice chairmanship of the education committee.
Asked why there’s no minority floor leader in the PB, Magpale said no one accepted the offer.
Aside from Sitoy, the younger Magpale and Calderon, other PB members now affiliated with the Cebu LP are Wilfredo Caminero, Jude Sybico, Williame Caminero, Carmen Meca and Thadeo Ouano. Correspondent Carmel Loise Matus
