Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have generally good weather Monday until Friday, dampened only by brief rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening, according to Sunday’s weather forecast.
But an active low pressure area (LPA) detected east of Luzon could develop into a tropical cyclone once it enters the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) Monday night.
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) forecaster Bernie de Leon said that even if the LPA entered the PAR, it still would not have a direct effect on the country.
“It is still too far to affect any part of the country. It would hardly affect the country even if it goes within the PAR,” De Leon said.
According to De Leon, the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting Palawan and the Visayas would bring occasional light to moderate rains or thunderstorms to the areas. Jeannette I. Andrade
