PLANTATION Bay Resort and Spa will be hosting another clinic and competition for the SuperTriKids from Oct. 25 to 28.

Oscar “Boying” Rodriguez, executive director of the Triathlon Association of the Philippines (TRAP) , said the clinic will focus on the intermediate group. But if there are beginners who want to join, they will still be accepted.

The clinic, which will be held for two days, will be handled by TRAP coach Melvin Fausto.

Registration fee is pegged at P500 and Rodriguez said they will be expecting about 50 participants.

According to Rodriguez, the clinic will also serve as assessment for all members of the TRAP developmental team.

The event will also serve as the preparation for this year’s Batang Pinoy.

On Oct. 28, an age-group aquathlon will also be held for the adult athletes. The age-group categories will follow the one used in the National Age-Group Triathlon. The aquathlon will be a swim-swim-run format.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez announced the holding of Rudy Project’s Captivating Camotes Triathlon early in February next year.

Some 30 Japanese triathletes, who also took part in last August’s Cobra Energy Drink Ironman 70.3 Philippines, have already confirmed their participation for this event.

The 1.5 kilometer swim will be held at the beach of Santiago Bay, the 40km bike will head to the Danao Lake Park and the 10km run will be held around the park.

Rudy Project will be bringing in upcoming triathlete Matteo Guidicelli and 4-time Filipino elite champion of the Cobra Ironman—Monica Torres, for this event. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
