MANILA, Philippines – An explosion hit the Light Rail Transit station on Recto in Manila, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority announced Saturday on its Twitter feed.
The blast occurred at 1:59 p.m., according to Basilio Arnaldo, duty officer of LRT 2, in ainterview with Radyo Inquirer 990AM.
Basilio said there has been no report so far of any casualties and that despite the explosion, operations would continue.
He added that canine units were dispatched to the area.
