4 teams battle for Cesafi volley 3rd place trophy

WITH their championship aspirations dashed last week, four teams will vie for the third place trophy today in the collegiate division of the 12th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) volleyball tournament at the University of San Carlos gym.

The University of Southern Philippines Foundation battle the University of San Jose-Recoletos in the women’s class with the same teams facing off for third place honors in the men’s division. The third place games in the high school competition will also be played today.

The much-awaited title games will commence tomorrow with Southwestern University gunning for its fourth title in the women’s division against USC in a rematch of last year’s finals. SWU is also eyeing the girls’ crown but will have to go through the reigning champions, USJ-R, to get it.

The men’s title game will be between the reigning titlists, USC and the University of the Visayas while the boys’ title will be disputed by USJ-R and USPF. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
