MANILA, Philippines — Storm signals were lowered as tropical storm “Marce” moved away from the country, the state weather bureau said Friday.
Marce maintained its strength as it moves slowly in a westward direction, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
The storm was last seen 280 kilometers west of Subic, Zambales with maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.
It is forecast to move west slowly and is expected to be at 550 km west of Subic, Zambales or outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).
Marce will bring 10–25 mm per hour (heavy – intense) within its 500 km and will enhance the southwest monsoon will bring occasional moderate to heavy rains over MIMAROPA,Visayas and Zamboanga Peninsula.
Fishing boats and other small seacraft are still advised not to venture out into the western seaboard of Luzon and Visayas.
