Samsam Gullas wants out of Eddiegul’s shadow
ONE of Cebu’s longest serving politicians, 1st district Rep. Eddie Gullas, accompanied his grandson Gerald Anthony “Samsam” in filing his Certificate of Candidacy yesterday.
Samsam, 27, said he would be filling big shoes of his grandfather as first district congressman.
“People have been supporting me because I am in the shadow of my grandfather but I would really want them to support me for what I can do, and not solely on what my grandfather has done.”
He said his priorities if he wins would be electrification, water supply, roads in mountain barangays and sports development.
“I also ask advice from the mayors, vice mayors, barangay councilors, and captains. I ask them because they’ve been in public service for some time. I need all the advice I can get from them,” he said.
Rep. Gullas, meanwhile, said that he will be around to give advice to his grandson.
