The police will file attempted homicide charges against the Far Eastern University (FEU) nursing student who stabbed a University of Santo Tomas (UST) student on the FEU campus in Manila on Tuesday evening.

Chief Superintendent Alex Gutierrez, Manila Police District director, said that they have yet to determine the motive for Christina Acosta’s attack on Joanne Lourdes Reyes, 20, an information technology student from UST.

Senior Supt. James Alfalla said that Reyes was at FEU to attend a film showing when she was attacked by Acosta and three others who remain unidentified. Reyes sustained six stab wounds and was reported to be in stable condition at a hospital.

FEU officials expressed regret over the stabbing and said they would cooperate with the police.—Nancy C. Carvajal
