Binay tops all gov’t officials in performance, trust ratings in Pulse Asia survey
MANILA, Philippines — In the crucial runup to the 2013 polls, the head of the opposition coalition garnered the highest performance and approval ratings among key government officials in the latest Pulse Asia Survey released on Thursday.
Vice President Jejomar Binay, president of the United Nationalist Alliance, received an 85 percent performance rating and an 84 percent trust rating in the survey taken between Aug. 31 and Sept. 7, his office said on Thursday.
Binay’s scores topped other government officials including President Aquino, Juan Ponce Enrile and House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte.
“I am grateful and humbled by the high regard and trust given to me by our people. This further inspires me to pursue my work as a member of the Cabinet in charge of housing and OFW concerns, and as the duly elected Vice President,” Binay said in a statement.
He said he would continue to support President Benigno Aquino III in pursuing reforms. This even as his coalition is going head to head against Aquino’s ruling coalition in the 2013 elections.

Our people deserve no less than a transparent and accountable government that puts primacy on their needs and aspirations,” Binay said.
Binay’s latest performance rating was the same score he got in August 2011, his personal best. His trust rating was just two points less than his highest recorded rating of 86 percent, his office said.
