MANILA, Philippines – Vice President Jejomar Binay on Wednesday urged Globe Asiatique (GA) developer Delfin Lee anew to face the graft charges filed against him.

Lee, his son Dexter, and three officers of GA had standing warrants of arrest for syndicated estafa in connection with GA’s Xevera housing projects in Bacolor and Mabalacat towns in Pampanga province.

Binay also appealed to authorities to intensify the manhunt for Lee, saying that his victims had long waited for justice.

“I appeal to the Philippine National Police to intensify efforts to locate and apprehend Mr. Lee. I also ask Mr. Lee to surrender and face the courts,” Binay said.

“The victims have long-waited for the resolution of the case. We hope justice will be achieved soon,” he added.

Binay also welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to junk the petition filed by Lee, saying that this was a significant step for his capture.

Lee had earlier filed a petition which seeks to stop the Department of Justice (DOJ) from prosecuting him in connection with the syndicated estafa charges.

“I welcome the ruling of the Supreme Court that upheld the decision of the Court of Appeals, allowing the Department of Justice to prosecute Mr. Lee and his cohorts for syndicated estafa. This is a significant step towards achieving victory for the ordinary workers defrauded by Globe Asiatique,” Binay said.
