Nearing spilling levels, Luzon dams open gates

MANILA, Philippines–Dams in Luzon continued to open their gates Wednesday as it neared its spilling levels from rains brought by tropical storm Marce and the southwest monsoon.

Binga Dam in Benguet kept two gates open at 0.9 cubic meters, as its water levels reached 574.52 meters, nearing its spilling level of 575.00 meters, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

Meanwhile, Magat Dam in Isabela also kept two gates open at 4 cubic meters, as its water levels reached 192.38 meters, nearing its 193.00 meters spilling level.

La Mesa Dam in Quezon City was at 79.25 meters, also close to its spilling level of 80.15 meters.

Angat Dam in Bulacan has already reached 210.18 meters, above its spilling level of 210.00 meters.

Ipo Dam, having a spilling level of 100.80 meters, was already at 100.56 meters.
