UST student stabbed inside FEU campus
MANILA, Philippines—A 20-year-old college student of the University of Santo Tomas is now being treated after being allegedly stabbed by female students from another university inside their campus in Manila Tuesday evening, police said Wednesday.
Senior Police Officer 1 Edgar Agbuya said the victim, identified as Joanne Lourdes Reyes, was walking with a friend inside the Far Eastern University campus along Morayta around 6:45 p.m. when they were reportedly cornered by four to six female students who allegedly pepper sprayed them in the face before stabbing Reyes.
Reyes was rushed to the Chinese General Hospital after sustaining “stab wounds to her back and abdomen,” Agbuya said, adding that the victim’s friend was able to run away.
He said Reyes and her friend were at the FEU campus for a film showing event. Motive on the attack remains unclear.
Radio reports, meanwhile said, the suspects have been identified, but have not been arrested by authorities.
It also said that the duty guard of FEU denied reporting a stabbing incident inside their campus.
