CEBU hardly felt the 5.2 earthquake that shook northern Mindanao and some parts of Visayas at 2:25 p.m yesterday.
Science Research Specialist Rolando Montanez of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) Cebu office, said they received reports that establishments at the IT Park in barangay Lahug felt the tremor.
“Cebu City felt the lightest effect of the earthquake with only intensity 1,” Montanez said. The epicenter was located at Sergio Osmeña Sr. town in Zamboanga del Norte.
An intensity 4 earthquake was felt in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur and Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte. The cities of Cebu, Iloilo and Cagayan De Oro City are the least affected. An intensity 3 earthquake was felt in Zamboanga City and the towns of Labason and Polanco in Zamboanga del Norte along with Dumaguete City in Central Visayas.
The rest of Misamis Oriental and Zamboanga del Norte’s Dipolog City, Tampilisan and Manukan towns registered intensity 2 tremors. Correspondent Jessa Chrisna Marie J. Agua
