Centcom has new chief

THE new Central Command commander will use the concept of bayanihan to address the peace and order situation in the Visayas.

Rear Admiral Jose Luis Alano, who replaced Maj. Gen. Jose Mabanta Jr. as Centcom chief yesterday, said he would involve everybody in his peace and security plan.

Alano, who was formerly assigned as the commander of the Philippine Fleet, said he planned to add more insurgency provinces in the region.

He said that the provinces of Biliran, Cebu, Bohol, Guimaras, Siquijor, and Northern andSouthern Leyte are insurgency free./Reporter Rhea Ruth V. Rosell
