AFTER THEIR losing their last game in heartbreaking fashion, Durabend dealt the same thing to Cebu Homes and Builders, winning by the skin of their teeth, 77-76, in the United Architects Basketball Club 3rd Corporate Cup last Sunday at the Cebu Eastern College gym.
Marvin Siaotong played the hero’s role in the victory as he scored the game-winning layup as Durabend wasted away an 11-point fourth period lead.
Ian Osmena nearly completed the comeback as he stole the ball and went all the way for the go-ahead layup, 76-75, with 22 seconds remaining in the game.
Then, off a timeout, Siaotong managed to get in the lane and flick-in the layup that sealed Durabend’s second win in four games. Cebu Homes fell to 1-3 (win-loss).
Paul Sasan paced the winning team with 16 points while this writer chipped in 15.
Meanwhile, the reigning champions Unitec got its fourth win in a row after routing Matimco, 75-60.
